A Brief Testimonial:
Ashok accepted Jesus
as his personal Savior in 1984. After he gave his life to the Lord, many
saw a radical change in his life. During his time at college he decided
to fully surrender his life to serve the Lord for all of his days. After
completing his BA in Physics, he attended the Union Biblical Seminary.
While in Bible school, Ashok felt a heavy burden to pray for North
India. Ashok writes, "I remember the many nights when I went up the hill
that overlooked the city of Pune and prayed, 'Lord, use me to be an
instrument that would serve you in North India'."
Ashok was
invited to be part of the pastoral team of Emmanuel Church in Bangalore
and spent much time with young people, seeing many of them turn to the
Lord. Through a series of events the Lord moved his family far from
family & friends to the City Of Joy, Kolkata. Here the entire family was
struck with all kinds of sicknesses repeatedly. Both daughters had to be
admitted to the hospital and Ashok was struck with Malaria 7 times. "The
amazing thing, however," Ashok writes, "is that the Lord prepared us
through all of this for what He is doing in our lives today."
The
Andrews family is now in their 10th year in this city and is encouraged
to see that the Lord has not made a single mistake in their journey.
Ashok pastored at Carey Church for 8 years before leaving in late
September 2005.
"As I look back over my journey I cannot imagine
how many great blessings of the Lord we would have missed out on if we
had not been obedient to the Lord’s voice. Since leaving Carey the Lord
has helped us to be part of a new church planting movement. A new church
has been born in an area where there were none. We have around 80 that
attend our fellowship today and what is most exciting for us is that we
are a Church focused on Missions. We support 24 missionaries all over
North India and I cannot stop thanking the Lord for all that He has done
for us."
