2017 Family Camp Teachers

You can expect to have a great Bible teaching experience at Fair Havens! Here are our teachers for Family Camp 2017:

Dr. Steve West, Crestwicke Baptist Church, Guelph

Week 1: July 1 - 8

Dr. Steve West is the Lead Pastor at Crestwicke Baptist Church in Guelph, ON, as well as an adjunct professor at Heritage Seminary (Cambridge) and Toronto Baptist Seminary (Toronto). Steve has preached and lectured in Canada, the United States, Africa, and Asia. He has been in pastoral ministry for over 10 years. He has published many articles in print and online as well as authored or contributed to several books such as Head, Heart Hands: Life-Transforming Apologetics (2015) and Resurrection, Scripture and Reformed Apologetics (2012). Steve and his wife, Heather, have two beautiful daughters - Charlotte and Brooklyn and one unreasonably cute dog.

Bob Beasley, The Bible League of Canada

Week 2: July 8 - 15

Bob Beasley is a follower of Jesus Christ, a husband, dad and grandfather. Since March 2011, he has been Vice-President of International Ministry for The Bible League of Canada. He was a teacher before entering full-time ministry in 1981. Bob has pastored churches, led youth ministry, directed camping programs and produced radio programs. Since 2003 has produced Words from the Heart, a daily radio program and podcast. He lives in Chatham, Ontario with his wife Wendy. Together they have three happily married sons and four grandchildren.

Dwayne Cline, Hughson Street Baptist Church

Week 3: July 15 - 22

When Dwayne stood in the house he grew up in and looked out past the back yard all he could see was the forest and fields. Country stretched before him for as far as the eye could see. Never did he expect or imagine that God would call him to minister to a church in the heart of the city. Dwayne has had the privilege of pastoring at Hughson Street Baptist Church, downtown Hamilton, since January 1, 1995. God has a heart for the city. The city is alive with various cultures, languages and people groups. The poor live in the heart of the city. God has called His people to love the city. When Dwayne looks out his backyard he sees the city and hears God's voice calling him to love the people in the city. 

God has provided him with a wonderful wife and ministry partner, Aimee. They have been blessed with four beautiful children - Ethan, Abby, Jewel and Ivy.

We are privileged to have Dwayne as a speaker, during Orientation week, to our summer students in the Stepping Stones Discipleship program.

Dr. Garth Leno, The Gathering

Week 4: July 22 - 29

Dr. Garth Leno is the senior pastor at The Gathering, a new church plant in Windsor, ON in cooperation with the Canadian National Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention in the U.S. Garth’s primary gift is preaching and teaching, and he brings a high dedication to the text of Holy Scripture combined with a winsomely warm and passionate devotion to Christ and the strong application of Biblical truth to daily life. Garth has published widely, he has travelled frequently speaking at conferences and retreats. His all-time greatest joy comes from preaching and teaching God's word in a healthy local church.

Garth and Patty have been married since 1980 and have three great kids, one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, one amazing grandchild, and one yappy Toy Poodle


Dave Ralph, Lakeside Ministries

Week 5: July 29 - August 5

Dave loves what God has called him to do as the Directional Leader of Lakeside Ministries and the Lead Pastor of Lakeside Church. His key responsibilities are to give spiritual, strategic and directional leadership to all the Lakeside Ministries including Lakeside Downtown and Lakeside HOPE House. He serves as the Lead Pastor for Lakeside Church where he is the primary communicator. He is responsible for overseeing the Staff Management Team and ensuring that attendees at Lakeside Central are being cared for and connecting in genuine community. He spends more and more of his time developing young leaders and teachers, helping to build strong leadership for the next generation.

He is married to Sue and they have served at Lakeside since August 1999. They have three beautiful daughters and three great sons-in-law who are all involved at Lakeside.

Dr. Bill Fietje, President, AGC

Week 6: August 5 - 12

 Dr. Bill Fietje became President of the Associated Gospel Churches  of Canada in July 2008. Prior to this role, Bill served for five years as their Canada East Superintendent. Before joining the AGC team, he was the National Director of OMF International-Canada for eleven years. He and his wife Lois also served for two terms with OMF International in Thailand as church planters and developers. Bill also served as pastor of Forward Baptist Church in Cambridge, Ontario. In 1999, he earned his Doctor of Ministry degree at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Hamilton, Massachusetts.

His vision and leadership have helped to birth both MissionFest Toronto and MentorLink Canada. The Fietjes reside in Niagara-On-The-Lake and have four adult children and eleven grandchildren


Sunder Krishnan

Week 7: August 12 - 19

Sunder is a respected Bible scholar, teacher, author and much sought after international conference speaker. Sunder was born in India. He grew up in the capital city of New Delhi, India where he graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology and received his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After a career as a nuclear engineer with Atomic Energy  of Canada. Sunder joined the pastoral staff of Rexdale Alliance Church in 1980 until his retirement in 2016. Sunder is deeply committed to supporting and equipping those who work with the poor around the world. He and his wife, Shyamala, have been married since 1971 and have two grown children, Vijay and Sheila, and six grandchildren.

Craig Danielson, Calvary Church

Week 8: August 19 - 26

Craig comes from his mother! He grew up with three brothers in the state of Minnesota and is high energy and very relational. Craig enjoys learning and thinking outside the box. He is the Lead Pastor at Calvary Church in St. Catharines. With more than 26 years of experience with student and family culture, being part of teams that truly motivate and impact others, especially students and families is a big love of his. 

He lives with five females - his wife, Laura, his three daughters - Kailey, Lindsay, and Emily, and a dog named Tess. He has a passion for sports and oh, by the way, he has no tattoos!

Dr. Tom Lambshead, Pioneers Canada

Week 9: August 26 - September 2

Tom Lambshead.jpgDr. Tom Lambshead has spent more than 25 years of caring for the spiritual needs of people by serving in pastoral roles in the local church. He has most recently been the Director of Professional Development for a faith-based NGO, developing Kingdom-building leaders for global ministry.  Tom's years of pastoral experience, history of strategic direction of multi-staff leadership teams, and a doctorate in leadership all combine to provide a strong foundation and preparation for his current role as Leadership Consultant for InCourage Leadership Development, a role that seeks to resource and train global leaders. Tom has been married to Karen for over 33 years and are the parents of three married children and two dogs. They live in Waterdown, ON.
