Ed Fontaine

Week 1: July 4-11

Ed Fontaine is an experienced ministry leader of 35+ years. He has his BA, Masters of Theology (ThM) and a Doctorate (DMin). His greatest joys are preaching God’s Word, reaching people with the gospel, and helping people grow in their faith and obedience to Christ. Ed’s preaching style is current, relevant, and frequently peppered with challenges for his listeners to keep pressing toward the higher goal of knowing Christ. He insists that people not take his word on a matter but to dig deeper into the Word of God to discover God’s truth for themselves. Ed and his wife Crystal have been blessed to raise 3 great young men, Dallas, Denver and Brett and have two wonderful daughters in law, Rachael and Kendal. They are so pleased to get to spend as much time as possible with their 6 out of province grandchildren. When not doing ministry or visiting grandkids, Ed and Crystal enjoy work outs, pickleball, and reading.

Louis Scheepers is a South African pastor now serving in Canada. Driven by a passion to reach people far from Jesus, Louis brings a practical and relevant approach to preaching and leadership. In 2021, he and his family moved from Cape Town to Newmarket, Ontario, where he serves as Lead Pastor of Grace Church. Louis and his wife, Yolandi, have two daughters, Abigail and Annabelle, and an energetic Italian Greyhound.

Scott is married to Charlene, and lives in Exeter, Ontario.

Ian Elliott

Week 4: July 25 – August 1

Ian Elliott grew up in a pastor’s home, began his career in the business world and entered vocational ministry as a youth pastor. He went on to complete a Master of Theology (MTS) and a Master of Divinity (Mdiv) at Heritage Seminary. In between those degrees, he spent 15 years planting a church among the researchers of Tsukuba “Science City” in Japan and now serves as the lead pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Richmond Hill. He’s the author of The Unstuck Life and a weekly blogger at Out of Neutral. He has a daughter and two sons and enjoys soccer, sushi, and ballroom dancing with his wife.

Aden Friedman

Aden Friedman was born in Johannesburg, South Africa to an orthodox Jewish family, where they were very involved in the Chabad community. In 1998, Aden was accepted to study at a Yeshiva in Hadera, Israel. In 2010, Aden met Cara, a believer in Yeshua (Jesus) and through her family he realized that Yeshua was the Messiah of both the Jewish people and the whole world. After giving his life to Yeshua, Aden felt called to share his faith with his Jewish people. In 2014, he and Cara were married, and Aden joined Jews for Jesus in South Africa later that year. In 2017, Aden was commissioned as a missionary, and he authored My Yiddishe Mama, a Jewish heritage cookbook for both secular and orthodox Jewish families in Johannesburg. In 2021, Aden and Cara had their first child, Levi Ezra, born in Jerusalem. Aden continues to serve with Jews for Jesus in Toronto as Director of the Canada branch.

David Elliott

Week 7: August 9-16

David Elliott and his wife, Lisa, have been blessed with four children (three on earth and one in heaven) and six grandchildren. Together they joyfully served the Lord and His church in pastoral ministry for 41 years. As “seasoned sojourners” they bring a wealth of ministry experience and biblical insight to equip and encourage believers. Now in retirement they love spending time with family, teaching at various churches/conferences and supporting a young pastoral couple (in their home church). They consider themselves to be “wounded healers” and facilitate several grieving parents’ retreats each year. As “God’s spoiled brats” they appreciate having time to enjoy God’s creation, be refreshed by the beautiful blue waters of Lake Huron and be “available” to do whatever the Lord asks them to do.
